Following Paul Ferguson and team's successful rescuing of the Constituency finances and steady hand at the tiller, this year's AGM has ushered in a new Chairman and team - tasked with managing the Association, providing support for branches and playing its part in fulfilling Party expectations.
Councillor Dr Alaric Pugh is our new Constituency Chairman. He has been a St Edmundsbury Borough Councillor for Clare since the 2012 election and is currently Cabinet Member for Planning and Growth. Alaric is a strategic marketing and communications professional and has more than thirty years' experience of working with most sizes and types of business in the UK and in Europe. Most notably he once held a press conference in the Vatican, and he ran an outsourced sales and marketing department for Otis Elevator. He has represented either businesses or the community in one way or another for over 30 years.
At the Association AGM he made a commitment to visiting branches and to increasing links with the Conservative Party regional structure and with other constituencies.
Most of the previous management team will continue to serve, including Paul Ferguson, but Treasurer Nick Reid is standing down and is replaced by Babergh Councillor Simon Barrett in that role.
